Now Playing Tracks

femoancitizen:

Yeah well, it happens. It’s pretty funny though when it does happen. Once when I was little there was a game and somehow five skips were played in a row!

She laughed, placing down a red 8.

Your eye has always been red, well, since I met you. But if you put red and blue together…well, you get purple. But with you… I think you’d look good in blue. One should always wear their favorite color, it makes them happy.

I would imagine they won.  Particularly if their next card was a draw two.

He plays a yellow eight.

Purple?  I think…no, not blue and red together.  Blue and red and something else…never mind.  I do not have a great deal of choices for atire.  No clothes, no paint, no alternative chasis-

Hang on.  There is someone talking to me again.

He gazes off into the middle distance and begins speaking in a semi-whisper.

ask-terl:

ask-mechakara:

ask-terl:

Terl’s eyes widen and he tries to hit the frequency again.

Mechy? Buddy, can you hear me? You must be SERIOUSLY damaged…

He quietly smirks.

Come on, let me HELP you! I have the knowledge to help you, you know? What does your database tell you about PSYCHLOS? Come on, at least that thing will tell you that I CAN help you! I know how to repair ANYTHING that is made of metal!

Let me order my minions to get you out of there!

Terl’s smirk slowly turns into a wide grin. This should do it.

He makes a strange face and tilts his head, speaking aloud.

Yes, I can hear you.  Is this that other general again?  I can only just…I am probably talking to midair again.

If you can hear me, I have no idea who you are.  And I do not know of any ‘Cyclone’ group.  You will have to tell me more.  How would you be getting me out?  If it would be a jailbreak, I should warn you, there are squids.  Probably.

Just call me Terl, if it makes it EASIER for you.

Also it’s PSYCHLO- P. S. Y. C. H. L. O.

I’m FOREIGN to this planet, just like Zod.

As for the jailbreak, don’t WORRY about me. I had to fight WORSE off than some kind of AQUATIC LIFEFORMS.

We will probably dig a TUNNEL under… where ever you are and then get you out of here. That’s way SAFER than placing explosives to tear the door open, don’t you agree?

He gazes off into the middle distance and begins speaking in a semi-whisper.

Terl, fine.  I do not recognize your name, nor your…race? Organization?  Whatever a Psychlo is.

I am not…currently at liberty to discuss any plans out loud, as I am being monitored by camera in this underground location.  I agree that one is preferable, though you may need a small amount of two for obstacles.  I will still attempt peaceable means first, as that is less likely to have anyone hurt or unwilling to communicate in the future.

He resumes his normal speaking voice.

That was not considerate of me.  I apologize.

femoancitizen:

It matches the color of your eye.

She drew two cards. This android, he is a nice…well, person wouldn’t be a word to describe him. He is nice though.

Your turn again. Drawing takes up my turn.

Really?  That seems slightly unfair.  I play two cards, you play none…I could lock you in a loop of drawing cards until I ran out, if I had the right hand.

He plays a red five.

I do not have such a hand.

There is something about red…and blue…that is familiar.  I did not know my eye was red.

femoancitizen:

She placed a green 3 on the pile, five cards left in her hands.

I…I..lets not talk about it, shall we? Last time I talked to someone about it…my mother didn’t take it so well.

She smiled up at him, her eyes a bit watery. Her hands trembled but steadied when she realized it. She needed to be calm…take a deep breath Kathryn.

Your move Mechakara.

He pauses, before placing down the card he just drew, a wild.

I will not press you for information you do not wish to give.

Red.

femoancitizen:

Well then you draw a card and its my turn again.

Not at all, this universe is nice. What keeps me busy is my mind. It never seems to just shut off and is always coming up with… you don’t want to hear it, it’s stupid and me just whining.

Draws a card and places it in the middle of his hand.

Coming up with dangerous thoughts?  Enough to make you want to sleep and never wake?  I cannot empathize, but I would like to know, if you think it would help.

femoancitizen:

Well, I think it is. I kind of wish I could do this more often.

She waited for him to make his next move.

Since you played a reverse, you can take another turn. Same with a Skip in this case.

I…was counting on the fact that you had something else to play.  I do not have anything that can go on this.

What keeps you so busy that you cannot relax?  Are you searching for a way back to your universe?

femoancitizen:

Hopefully something works.

She places a green four on the pile.

More luck really, especially if there are more players. You have to worry what they have in their hands as well.

…it’s fine, really. I’m a little high strung anyways. I need to just relax or something, hehehe.

After a moment, he places a green reverse.

And card games are relaxing.  Unless the players are very competitive.  Or on motorcycles.

He frowns.  Where did that thought come from?

Well, I think this is relaxing.  I do not actually know, if it is.

Ask Mechakara: femoancitizen: Hmmm, seems you have a bad signal, like a radio. Maybe...

femoancitizen:

Maybe you have internal one that you can reset?

She picked up her own, moving two of them to the middle.

Sorry, I have a habit of rambling though.

She reached down to the deck and flipped the first card over, a blue 7.

That decides how we start and since you’re technically the challenged, you go first.

Probably.  I will have to try later.

He places a blue four on the pile.

There is some measure of skill to this game, but much relies on chance of cards.  I imagine I will play better as the deck thins.  Unless I am distracted by your rambling.

…That last was meant not to be taken seriously.

femoancitizen:

Hmmm, seems you have a bad signal, like a radio. Maybe with some fine tuning, you could hit the right frequency. It would be so much easier if you had a dial.

I’ve never actually counted how many Uno cards there are in a deck. But the game is to get rid of your hand. The numbers are 0-9 with four colors, red, yellow, blue, and green.

She dealt each of them seven cards.

Now, to play, you need to either put a matching number or color on top of the one below it. There are special cards like reverse, skip, wild, and wild plus draw four. Wild and wild plus draw four changes the color that has to be played and wild plus draw four does the same but the other player has to draw four. Skip makes the next person miss their turn. Reverse….well, it doesn’t work that great when there are only two people… I’ve rambled long enough.

I do not have dials.  I tried sticking a finger in my ear.  It did not help.

He picks up his cards, moving one from the end to the middle.

You were not rambling, you were explaining.  You were doing something I asked.  There is no need to…be uncertain of yourself.

Do I go first, or do you?  Does the first player decide the color?
